Alleyways of Cusco

Cusco is one of those beautiful cities where getting lost really doesn’t matter too much. There’s no glass skyscrapers or polluting highways here. Just narrow alleyways chock full of little stores, restaurants, and surprises. There are also stairs (so many stairs…), but a terrific view is always around the corner if you ever need an excuse to take a little break.

Tromping up the road towards Sacsayhuaman, we found the perfect place to stop and catch our breath.

I’m not kidding about there being a lot of stairs. Serious cardio workouts were done in this city!

We spent a whole day exploring the little streets around the Plaza de Armas.

Little alleyways can feed into secluded courtyards filled with interesting goodies to see.

The streets around San Blas. See that rainbow flag at the very end? It’s the flag of Cusco (it has an extra light blue stripe which differentiates it from the other iconic rainbow flag).

And just when we thought all alleys were white washed walls, we find this little place glowing at sunset.

Okay, not every alley has shops and restaurants to visit, but that doesn’t make them any less pretty.

Some awesome graffiti, and look, more incredible views!
