Favorite (Rainy Day) Corners - Vancouver

It’s the middle of fall and that means the rainy days are coming to Vancouver. We caught the tail end of a two week period of non-stop wet stuff. Here are a few places we went to stay warm and dry.

Browsing for books sometimes takes a backseat when there’s a new city to explore. Not this time! We found bookstores with floor to ceiling shelves, some had two floors and a little art gallery, and one even had a hidden room for old books.

Of course, after finding that perfect book, why not grab a hot beverage at a local cafe and read the rain away.

When regular cafe’s don’t cut it anymore, there’s always cat cafes to spend some time with a little furry companionship. This is Mango, waiting to be adopted.

Granville Island is full of little art shops and, of course, a great food market.

Take the ferry over to North Vancouver and check out the Quay Market right on the shore.

The Bloedel Conservatory, an indoor dome of tropical plants and over 60 different types of exotic birds. This is Kramer, a moluccan cockatoo.
