Food Fridays - Waterton Lakes National Park
August 25, 2017

With only a weekend in Waterton, it was a bit of a stretch to get enough for a food post, but we still managed to enjoy high tea at the Prince of Wales Hotel and to satisfy my pickle craving for a while. Special thanks to our friends for ordering a few extra bites to keep Food Fridays alive!
Presenting the high tea selection at the Prince of Wales hotel.
With the adorable little leaf on top of the tea bag, it feels like we are watering the tea instead of pouring.
Letting the Earl Grey tea steep in peace for the perfect five minutes before adding cream and sugar.
Top layer: Scones with blue cheese, mixed berry jam, and fresh cream
Middle layer: cucumber with pretzel bread, tuna salad, and strawberry and cream cheese sandwiches
Bottom layer: strawberries dipped in white chocolate and ginger crumble, vanilla cake, chocolate cookies (not seen) and chocolate brownies
One of the Local Smokies from Weiners of Waterton. Additional toppings at no extra charge include your choice of special sauce, deli mustard, diced onions, sauerkraut, dill pickle, coleslaw, ginger carrots, banana peppers, jalapeño slices, and pickled onions.
Being a big pickle lover, I was thrilled to try deep fried pickles, a salty sour treat in a crunchy bread crumb and dill coating.
French fries, gravy, and cheese curds equals poutine goodness.
For an alternative sandwich option, Waffleton offers a delicious ham and Swiss between two light perfectly golden waffles. And a pickle!
