Okay, I’ll admit I’m a little slow at getting this post out. These quick jaunts through Drumheller, Lethbridge, and Bowden were done back in early September (hence the lack of snow and the warm looking weather). To be honest, there were some time constraints and a sprained ankle to deal with, so our usual exploration abilities were limited. There are so many great places to visit in Alberta, and these are definitely not all of them, but they are the ones we discovered (and were able to hobble around) this time around.
Read MoreBanff is beautiful, but sometimes those hour or more hikes to get a wonderful view just aren’t possible (especially during winter time). When pacing Banff Avenue over and over just doesn’t cut it anymore, here are a few suggestions to try. There are many many more sites in Banff, but the ones listed here are really close to the town centre, offer some great views, usually have parking nearby, and are our personal faves.

Special thanks to our friends for ordering a few extra bites to keep Food Fridays alive!

Read MoreIt's been 6 months since we've returned. Do we miss being on the road? Oh yes! But we also know that there are many more travels in our future. To ring in the new year, we took a quick trip up north to the capital city of Alberta to wander a few ice castles and stroll through a winter wonderland.
Happy 2017!

Read MoreThere is a lot of history and myth soaked into this pretty little place just south of Richmond. It is home to two historic sites, the Britannia Shipyards National Historic Site and the Gulf of Georgia Cannery, but these days, Steveston is known as the place where ABC's TV show "Once Upon A Time" is filmed. Most of the buildings are altered for filming, but there are a few that keep their Storybrooke signs up year round.
