Guest Blogging for Mandira Pattnaik's Blog Site

Earlier this year, I was invited to do a guest blog post for another writer whom I greatly admire. It was such an honor to be asked and at first I was thrilled, and then I was quite nervous. In other words, imposter syndrome kicked in and it kicked in hard. What do I have to say to other writers (many who are way more skilled and accomplished than I) that they wouldn’t already know?

I had pretty much complete freedom to write about whatever I wanted as long as it gave some sort of writing advice or learnings. I had a few potential topics and after discussing them with Mandira to make sure it fit with a blog, I chose to write something that was/is very relevant to me at the time and something that I was struggling with in my daily writing life: trying to find inspiration while getting caught up in the everyday. This guest blog isn’t mind blowing or revolutionary by any stretch, but I think it is honest, and hopefully there is an appreciation for that.

For a glimpse into my writing life, a few tricks to try, plus a special appearance by my dog, please read Finding Inspiration in the Everyday now up!

I walk the dog along the same path every morning.

It is 930 steps and takes 10 minutes roundtrip.

“Finding Inspiration in the Everyday” a guest blog post hosted by Mandira Pattnaik.
