Street Art in Hong Kong
Hong Kong has some pretty amazing street art and there are now areas dedicated to showcasing these free open-air exhibits.
Hollywood Road - in 2018 the Hong Kong Walls festival kickstarted an art revival in this area, bringing in artists on a global scale.
Art Lane - There must’ve been something in the water around 2018 because this is also when ArtLane began.
HollyWood Road (OLD TOWN CENTRAL)
Located on the Graham Street side of the G.O.D. store is one of the more famous instagrammable murals by Alex Croft detailing colorful old tenement buildings of the Kowloon Walled City.
Adding a little extra Hollywood flair is the front of the Madera Hollywood Hotel which depicts legendary western icons Frank Sinatra, Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, and Charlie Chaplin (by Robert Sketcherman).
A more recent one from 2023’s HKWALLS by Elsa Jean de Dieu on the side of the restaurant Uma Nota.
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles situated perfectly right next to a hambuger/pizza joint (which was closed that day).
