The Singapore Botanic Gardens

We took a break from the cement and exhaust of the big city and headed out to do something a little greener.  The Singapore Botanic Gardens contains several themed gardens including a Healing Garden (displays plants used in traditional medicine in South East Asia), a Fragrant Garden (where jasmine and ylang ylang are still in bloom), a little bonsai garden, and more.  The highlight is the Orchid Garden which takes you on a beautiful stroll through 1,000 species and over 2,000 different hybrids of orchids.

Plants are not the only things living in the gardens.  Plenty of birds and lizards call this place home too.

$5 gets you entrance into the National Orchid Garden.
