Dwelling Lit, Greenhouse Issue

The house that I grew up in had a small crab apple tree in the front yard. Once September hit, it was not an uncommon sight to see this poor tree with ripe apples get covered by the first snowfall of the season .

I had a scrap of a poem (maybe a few lines at best) written about this, but when I saw the submission call for the Greenhouse Issue of Dwelling Lit, I thought maybe I should polish this poem up so that my childhood crab apple tree might find a home there.
